Making Merry with the Thompsons
We've spent a few nights lately just hanging out with Tyler and Christie and family, making merry and gearing up for Christmas. Last Saturday, we did what Barneses always do at this time of year - make a glorious, delicious mess decorating Christmas cookies. (See here for last year's creations.) This year, there were some under-aged helping hands, which made the experience all the more messy, and unfortunately, all the more germy. With the stomach flu spreading like wildfire over the next few days, the cookies, beautiful though they were, were tossed - literally and figuratively, too.
We've had a good couple of kid- and cat-filled evenings, and there are plenty more where that came from in our very near future. As long as the stomach flu has made its rounds in whom it will and left immunity in everyone else, we can't wait.
