MPH Cohort: Final Shindig
Last Saturday, we had a final shindig with my MPH cohort - a cook-out in North Park. We were a few short, since some of the members of our cohort are already on to new, bigger and better things, but we also had a few extra, since a lot of families were in town for graduation weekend. Everyone brought their own meats and veggies to grill, and we shared sides pot-luck style. It was a beautiful day, and a great way to wrap up the last two years in a comfortable, low-key way.
We brought teriyaki chicken shish-kabobs, yeast rolls, and strawberry shortcake - all new recipes for us, and all very, very delicious. I was surprised by how easy it was to make both yeast rolls and angel food cake, and how much better they taste than their store-bought counterfeits. We'll definitely be revisiting all of these recipes throughout the summer.
Here are some pictures from the afternoon (Drew must have been playing photographer; there aren't any good pictures of his handsome face):
There's law school, medical school, PA school, PhDs, world travels, fancy and not-so-fancy jobs, puppies, big moves, and little babies in our futures. Watch out world. Here we come.
