The End of a Birthday Week
Yesterday was the culmination of a whole week of quarter-of-a-century birthday celebration around here.
I spent the afternoon painting pottery with Amber, Emilie, and Allie. Drew spent the afternoondestroying decorating our apartment with Aaron while Jaimie baked a cake. Three rolls of streamers, a roll of toilet paper, two bags of balloons, tons of candy, and one delicious cake later, their work was complete.
When I got home, the four of us went to Brick Oven for pizza (where Drew and Aaron hung out with Cosmo, the BYU cougar) and then to Comedy Sportz for some of the best entertainment around. Somewhere in the middle, we also watched Mrs. Doubtfire, courtesy of my sister, and enjoyed cake, courtesy of Jaimie.
Now, the streamers have been taken down, the balloons have been popped, and the party hats have been put away. The cake, ice cream, and candy, however, are still ever-present and in great supply. We're also still basking in the knowledge that we have some really great friends to celebrate this life with and overflowing with gratitude for their thoughtfulness.
24 was a fantastic year; let's see what 25 brings.
