A Pleasant Sunday in Pleasant Grove

We haven't been leading very exciting lives lately, thus the paucity of updates. My apologies; we'll try harder to do blog-worthy things more often.

Weekending for us so far has included absolutely no work and lots of play (we will pay dearly for this in the coming week, but as of right now, it's been totally worth it). The highlights include:

...on Friday, a trip to Farr's with Katherine and Lindsay to celebrate Katherine's new job; joining some new friends from church for waffles and ice cream - an interesting combo, but overwhelmingly sweet, even for a sugar addict like me; and round three of Warrior at the dollar theater with Aaron and Jaimie (Drew has a serious man-crush on Tom Hardy; if I didn't completely understand his fascination with Warrior, this would be a small problem).

...on Saturday, sleeping in until 11:30am (shame); a good, hard workout with Drew as personal trainer - he's a great teacher, but I'm not always the most compliant student; a mid-afternoon return to our warm bed, seeking refuge from the dreary day outside (shame, shame); pesto tortellini and shrimp for dinner; a successful batch of chocolate chip and walnut cookies; too much raw cookie dough consumed; and a lazy, cozy evening on the couch in front of Fred Claus.

...today, oversleeping yet again without the slightest bit of guilt; still making time to whip up blueberry muffins for breakfast; another mid-afternoon nap; a smooth drive to Pleasant Grove in our toasty car; playing around on the school playground until time for dinner; a marvelous sunset; and taco soup, more chocolate chip cookies, and a game of Five Crowns with Etta.

Now we're home and must face the pending week and at least some of that homework we've been ignoring all weekend. Just one more week until Thanksgiving Break; I can smell the turkey and the stuffing and the pie already. :)
