Sunday Stroll: Durant Nature Park

We like to go for walks. Drew and I walked many miles up and down Highway 144 and around J.F. Gregory Park in high school; we have trekked trails all over Utah Valley and the Triangle; and Miss Naomi has been covering some serious ground since she before she was born. So, a few weeks ago, we made it a thing. We initiated a new Sunday tradition? policy? pattern? We go for a walk together. Every Sunday. Rain or shine, cold or hot. The first Sunday of our pact, we just walked around our neighborhood. This weekend, we spent the morning hanging out with the turtles, running on the trails, and exploring the playground at Durant Nature Preserve.

In spite of the photographic evidence, Drew was there, too. Naomi had a serious case of the Mamas that morning, and since we primarily photograph her these days, whoever she is standing by or sitting on makes it into the frame purely by association; it happened to be me.

This lovely little Sabbath pattern gets us out of the house every Sunday and carves out some time for us to spend together unplugged and unencumbered by household chores or the week ahead. As long as we bring the camera along, it also just might keep me blogging more regularly. We'll see about that one.
