2015
Happy 2015! We [all three of us...] made it to midnight last night to ring in the new year. They say how you spend New Year's Eve foreshadows how you'll spend the rest of the year. Let's hope our evening foretells a coming year of lots of family togetherness, not ongoing sleepless nights with a teething baby. Although sleep deprivation and new teeth are very likely on the docket for 2015, today we started this year off right with the togetherness bit.
After spending the morning purging and organizing closets, we bundled up and went for a long walk on the Greenway. We still really love living in Falls River, and easy access to places like this are a big part of that love. Our goals for 2015 include taking [small] steps towards finding a more permanent home, and that's really kind of bittersweet. We grew and brought home our baby girl in this neighborhood (her first walk was on this trail); the thought of moving on just reinforces how fast time is moving along!
When we got home, we warmed up with snuggles and books, and then Drew and Naomi took a nice, long nap - something else we hope 2015 brings in abundance for all of us. We rounded out the afternoon with lots of play, some errands, and dinner at Chubby's.
Best of all, we spent the day enjoying the many [newly developed, ridiculously cheesy] faces of Naomi. She's changing so much so quickly these days and getting spunkier and smarter and more lovely all the time.

2014 has been a year unlike any other - both beautiful and challenging in new and perfect ways. I'm afraid we failed at most of our documented resolutions for 2014, but we're approaching 2015 with renewed determination to be a little kinder, a little wiser, a little healthier, and a little more productive and creative than we are. I'm eager to see what it brings - to see it all, to live it slowly and intentionally, to be fully and completely present in each moment, whether good or ugly, simple or crazy. Mostly, I'm excited to hold my favorite people even tighter this year and love them better each day. Adios, 2014; nice to meet you, 2015.
Happy New Year!
